Teens Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Oakville — On the mats.
The teen years are the moment confidence is forged — or isn't. Our Junior program gives teens a place to earn it the hard way, surrounded by teammates who are doing the same.
More than just moves.
Earned, not given.
The kind of confidence that comes from actually being able to handle yourself. You can't fake it and nobody can take it away.
Show up. Train. Repeat.
Teens learn what it means to do something consistently, even when they don't feel like it. That's a life skill disguised as a sport.
Stay calm under pressure.
Nothing teaches composure like having someone try to submit you. Teens learn to breathe, think, and solve problems in real time.
Teammates who aren't on their phones.
BJJ gives teens an in-person community where everyone is working on something hard together. That's rare and powerful at this age.
Hard work.
Real fun.
Move. Sweat. Laugh.
Teens warm up with BJJ-specific movement and games that build the body awareness they'll need for technique.
Drill like it matters.
Clean reps. Real instruction. Luiz meets every student where they are and gives them the next thing to work on.
Controlled live training.
Progressive rounds in a supervised environment. They learn to compete safely and respectfully — then carry that mindset out the door.
Junior class,
three nights a week.
The teen years need this.
- The teen who's being bullied and needs to stop feeling powerless.
- The teen whose confidence has dipped and needs somewhere to rebuild it.
- The teen who loves sports and wants something more technical than stick-and-ball.
- The teen who's on screens too much and needs an in-person outlet.
- The teen who's already an athlete and wants the edge BJJ gives.
What parents ask.
Our Junior class is built for ages 9 and up. Teens 13–15 train in this class as well — it's the right mix of technique, physicality, and discipline for the age.
Not at all. We start every new student with the same foundation, regardless of age. Your teen will learn the basics alongside other beginners.
Yes. We teach age-appropriate technique with progressive resistance and strict supervision. Safety is the foundation of every class.
BJJ gives teens a quiet confidence that changes how they move through the world. Most bullying stops when a kid carries themselves differently — which is what BJJ trains.
Two to three times per week is ideal. Consistency is what builds skill and confidence.
